Iceland is Unforgettable

Iceland is Unforgettable

I am updating this blog as we finish our final day here in Iceland. We got here 3 days ago and we stayed busy for the most part even after being sidelined by a record 20" snowfall that they have not seen since 1937!

We had a full day planned to explore the Reykjanes Peninsula which is the southern part of Iceland. I call it the oceanside of Iceland. As we drove to continue our exploration, the ocean was on our side acting as a tempting guide to find something extraordinary.

When we talked to the locals, they told us or should I say, they "warned" us that the weather changes often. I didn't know what often meant until we were out and about. We went from clear skies, to windy to arctic cold in about 20 seconds. But it didn't stop us... we kept going. We followed the planned list of places that we had planned and truly enjoyed what we saw. Some roads were inaccessible so we explored on foot. It added to the whole experience of finding something unique.
